Jan Abigail Ponce is the firm’s Managing Partner. She brings with her expertise and valuable know-how gained from over fifteen (15) years of legal practice in the field of intellectual property law.  As an intellectual property lawyer, she advises clients on how to protect their intellectual property rights and how to enforce these rights efficiently and effectively within the Philippines taking into consideration the peculiarities of the local landscape.

Ms. Ponce is a strong champion of intellectual property rights and has successfully handled oppositions and petitions for cancellations, infringement cases involving trademarks, patents and copyrights, unfair competition cases before the Bureau of Legal Affairs, Office of the Director General of the Intellectual Property Office and also appeals with the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court.

As a well-experienced intellectual property lawyer, she has, in numerous instances, secured declarations recognizing the well-known status of the clients’ trademarks having represented leading corporations engaged in apparel and clothing, automobile, agricultural, chemical, food, personal care, consumer electronics and lighting, software, tire, television and entertainment and pharmaceutical industries.
She is able to take a proactive stance in formulating intellectual property strategies for clients. Her strength also lies in being able to formulate effective and cost-efficient enforcement and anti-counterfeiting campaigns for clients. She works closely with the Bureau of Customs, Intellectual Property Office Enforcement Office, Department of Trade and Industry and the National Bureau of Investigation.

Ms. Ponce is an active member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and is an active participant in numerous international trademark and patent conferences. She believes that continuous training for each of the firm’s members is vital and essential in being able to deliver quality services for the clients.

Prior to establishing her own firm, Ms. Ponce was a partner at one of the leading intellectual property law firms in the Philippines.

She obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the Ateneo de Manila Law School and was successfully admitted to the Philippine Bar immediately thereafter. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from the Ateneo de Manila University.
